Here are some of the events to look forward to In 2024

Pride Parade in Dublin

The Pride Parade is one of the most over-the-top and colourful events in Dublin every year and being its 50th anniversary, we hope it will be bigger and better than ever. LGBTQ+ people, young and old, from all walks of life, come to Dublin City to celebrate with costumes, rainbows, floats, signs and more. Individuals do not need to register or pay to take part, just join the parade on O Connell Street. There is no fee for community groups and nonprofit organisations to take part but businesses and large organisations are expected to sponsor the parade if they wish to march. Register early to secure your spot! Start times for the parade on 29th June are announced closer to the big day and everyone is encouraged to dress up.

Pride Village

From 1 pm until 6 pm on 29th June, Merrion Square Park is transformed into Pride Village. Thousands will flock to the busy square to soak up the atmosphere and get involved. The main stage has an array of events throughout the afternoon, and we expect to see plenty of street entertainment and dancing on and off the stage. There will be music all day, with a space to grab a bite to eat and rest too. Alcohol is not permitted on the festival site but there is a bar nearby and lots of local pubs if you want to grab a drink before or after. Expect to see performances from the wonderful Gay Men’s Choir, Davina Devine, Sparkle and hosting from Phil T. Gorgeous and Paul Ryder. You don’t need tickets just turn up and have fun.

Mother Pride Bloc Party

What is possibly the most popular and busy event of all of the Pride celebrations is Mother Pride Bloc Party. Taking place on the grounds of the National Museum of Ireland in Smithfield, this event is the pinnacle of gay nightlife in Dublin. The main stage will be graced by such stars as Swedish rapper, singer & producer COBRAH!, viral hit and electronic music sensation Princess Superstar, a true veteran of the dance music scene Robin S and Ru Paul’s Drag Race Winner, Sasha Velour among many others. There are three stages, fairground rides and multiple bars so you won’t have a chance to be bored. A dozen other acts are performing during the party giving you great value for money and an all-around entertaining night out. We expect surprises along the way too and are hoping for great weather – but even if it rains you can’t dampen spirits during Pride! Tickets cost €45 and should be purchased from reputable sellers only.

Other Pride Events

If partying and parades are not your favourite, there are other ways to celebrate pride in Dublin. There are several street performances and theatre productions in the works for the same week, giving you a quieter alternative. Information on other events has not been released but will be available on the official Dublin Pride website.
