Long Stay Accommodation for the Summer

If you’re planning your summer for 2025, consider a trip to Dublin.

When students vacate our accommodations, we welcome visitors for both long and short stays during the summer months. DCU offers high-quality student accommodation throughout the summer, ideal for Erasmus students, groups of friends, or tourists staying longer term.

Opting for DCU’s accommodation provides better value for money compared to hotels or serviced apartments in Dublin, offering comfort and a great location to explore the city.

Things to Do in Dublin

Dublin is a vibrant city with an abundance of activities, especially during the warmer months. From sightseeing, museums, galleries, and landmarks to shopping, lounging in parks, hiking, and swimming in the sea, there’s always something to do.

City centre parks like St. Stephen’s Green, Merrion Square Park, and Iveagh Gardens are popular spots. Locally, guests can visit Albert College Park or the National Botanic Gardens. Phoenix Park, the largest city park in Dublin, is home to Ireland’s President, herds of wild deer, and Dublin Zoo.

For coastal experiences, take the DART to Howth, Portmarnock, Bray, or Dún Laoghaire for hikes, swimming spots, and amusement arcades. After a refreshing dip, enjoy an ice cream or some world-famous fish and chips before returning to your accommodation in Glasnevin.

On less-than-perfect weather days, explore Dublin’s excellent free museums and galleries. Merrion Square hosts several national galleries. The IMMA, Hugh Lane Gallery, and the Little Museum of Dublin are great spots—many offering student discounts. Don’t miss the EPIC museum to learn about Irish emigration, the GPO, Trinity College, and the Guinness Storehouse.

Dublin also boasts a diverse dining scene, catering to all budgets. From fine dining to street food, there’s something for everyone. DCU has an excellent on-site restaurant and canteen. Locally, restaurants in Drumcondra and Glasnevin like Shouk and The Lovely Food Company offer great options. In the city centre, hundreds of restaurants provide unique dining experiences. Don’t forget to ask for student discounts where applicable.
